Master Page

Hi everyone,

I have attached the indesign file that I am working from and into which I would like you to input your layout (or as much as you can) as discussed.

As you can see I have already put in the page numbers and toppers so you just need to scroll through and find your section (refer to flat plan I sent yesterday) and build your layout directly on there. You can then email me the whole document once you're finished.

Please do not adjust anything I have inputted already. On the contents page I have given you an example of text and headings: please stick to this closely. Please note the distance I have left between the headline and the standfirst and the standfirst and the body text and stick to this closely.

Important points:

You will need to download our fonts from www.dafont.com onto your computer. Please search for the following:

Main body text: Europe Underground
Headline text: Buteco
Section headings: A love of Thunder

N.B: please use the following:

- Main body font size: 9pt
- Main body text: on the paragraph option please use the option that is the first option on the left on the second row. It is the option that creates a justified column but with the final line of the paragraph not having to fill the whole line
- Headline font size: 44pt
- Standfirst font size: 14pt

IMAGES

- If you are wanting an image to fill a whole page or run to the edge of a page, please leave a 10mm bleed. This means making the image run off the page and onto the background by 10mm all the way around the edge of the paper: this is a requirement of any printers.

BYLINES

Most of us are doing a page or double page ourselves so in this case when it comes to bylines please follow these guidelines: on your first / main article on the page put your full name in the standfirst (refer to contents page example). On all following articles please put your initials at the very end of your article (see example on contents page).

*I know this all sounds picky but it is really, really important that we all stick to these pointers so that our magazine has a professional, cohesive feel. It may sound like an overexaggeration but if 1 little thing is off (wrong text size, text too close to headline etc) you WILL notice and it will ruin the professionalism and high we should be aiming for.

Thank you! ANY questions along the way: please, please email / text / ask me. Please get in touch as soon as anything comes up to save problems later along the way.

Libby x
